Some garage, revival and soul. Certainly not my best set, but in my defence I have to say I broke my first rule for DJing: "Don't play drunk!". Still it's fun, in my opinion.

No setlist right now, will post that later.

Of Love and Healthy Storms

<img src="http://sicilian.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1019628/0x0_680211.gif" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Time for another episode of the Sicilian Well-Dressed Gangster incredible selection of good music. =)

This one goes for all the burning hearts out there (including mine) with some of my favourite love songs of all time. No idiotic lyrics about lost girls and emo trends, just fine sweet romance. Tragic sometimes, indeed, but classy still. It is the duty of the podcaster today to put love back among the subjects of good music, specially against the 'Simple Plans' out there.

I tried to include a mix of genres and eras, from 60s soulfull tunes to modern classics from the likes of Raveonettes and Blur, including jazz gods like Chet Baker and french beauty Françoise Hardy.

Hope you enjoy.

Or 'All I really wanna say is: Go fuck yourself'</b>

So this is a compilation of music from my younger years - hence "Caruncho" as in my nick from aprox. 16 to 18 years old. Most of the music from that time was lost in the Great Dustbin of the 90s teenagery, but some are still very listenable, mainly the punk tunes you'll find here. A few of them are even better than that.

No radio-voice shit either. Only pure teenage angst, empty booze bottles and suicide attempts.

1. Pixies - U-Mass
2. Mudhoney - Touch me I'm sick
3. McLusky - Rice is Nice
4. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Man
5. Joy Division - No Love Lost
6. Dead Kennedys - Police Truck
7. Rancid - Lock, Step & Gone
8. Presidents of the USA - Lump
9. Mudhoney - Hate the Police
10.Ramones - I don't wanna grow up
11.Sex Pistols - Seventeen (Lazy Sod)
12.Nirvana - Drain You

=====

Roberto Carlos is a Brazilian musician who started his career in the early 60s and went on to become the most sucessful popular music interpreter in Brazil. His first works involve some fairly good rock arrangements based either on early american rock singers, mainly Elvis Presley, or more fuzz oriented, guitar focused songs.

He eventually went crazy and started to write songs about fat ugly women and the like.

Podcast in Portuguese.

No voice yet, and in English for the benefit of international listeners (at least for now!), but Sicilian's podcast page is open for business.

To celebrate the first post I arranged a short selection of rock music sharing the same beat rhythm: fast drums, furious vocals and precise guitar. They range from the 60s mod beat to contemporary alt. rock.

To download it, right click the 'Download' link down there and click the 'Save As' option.
